FENLON, James Arden – Of Flint, age 87, died Monday, February 22, 2010 at American House. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Thursday, February 25, 2010 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley Street, Flint Father Thomas Firestone officiating. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery with a military service under the auspices of VFW Post #3087. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association. Visitation 4-8pm Tuesday and 12-8pm Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.  A Rosary will be prayed 7pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Fenlon will be at the church 10am Thursday until the time of the Mass.

 James was born In Gaastra, MI on July 28, 1922. He was a graduate of Stambaugh High School, Class of 1940. James then went to C.C. Camp and later joined the US Army in 1942 where he served until 1946. He moved to Flint in 1947 where he started working for General Motors. In 1948, he began working for F.J. Boutell Car Carrier where he remained until his retirement in 1986. James married Arawana (Suzie) May (Fetting) on June 17, 1950, and they were married for 41 years. James enjoyed buying new cars and going back to visit his family in Upper Michigan. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW Post #3087 in Flint and the Fenton Eagles.

 James leaves his family, Mary K. (Steve) Messenger, Douglas J. (Robin) Fenlon, Wayne W. (Doris) Fenlon, Marlane M. Fenlon and Lisa M. Kaake; grandchildren, Tina N. Tatro, Sandy M. Deale, Douglas J. Fenlon Jr., Eric S. Fenlon, Jesse M. Fenlon, James A. Fenlon, Ashley M. Fenlon, Shane P. Fenlon; great-grandchildren, Rachel Deale, Marissa Deale, Sarah Deale, and Samuel Fenlon; sisters, Elaine Gradt, Shirley (Ken) Koerber, Rita (Jerry) Brhely;

 Preceded in death by his wife,  Arawana May, sister, Virginia Sieron, brother, Alfred Fenlon and parents, Peter J. and Della V. Fenlon.

 A special thanks to the staff of American House North and the medical team staff for all the extra care that they gave Dad, as well as the wonderful care from the staff of Heartland Hospice, and our special friend Rhonda Kietzman.
