
WOODS, Melba Louise – of Flint, age 79, passed away March 30, 2010 at her residence. A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, Pastor Larry Cameron officiating. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Wednesday and 12-2 PM Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Guiding Light Tabernacle of Flint.
Melba was born in Clarkston, Missouri on September 7, 1930, daughter of the late Alvie Dee and Madie (Pollard) Moore. She married Robert Woods on November 20, 1948 and he preceded her in death on February 6, 2005. Melba attended College to learn shorthand and she worked at Ternstedt and Pepsi Cola as a bookkeeper. She loved listening to Elvis and playing bingo. Melba was a member of Guiding Light Tabernacle. She loved her church and God and taught Sunday School for many churches. Melba was a 50 year avid antique collector with her husband.
Melba is survived by her children, Michael (Debra), David and Kimberly; grandchildren, Guy, Jeffrey (Angela); step grandchildren, Matthew Mondeau, Jennifer (Nathan) Kellaway; great-grandson, Alec Kellaway; sisters, WilsaDee Fawks and Glenda (Bill) Atteberry; sister-n-law, Ruth Woods. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Hurley and brother, Dorman Moore.
