BARTH, Eugene R. “Bob” – of Burton, age 81, passed away at his residence on Saturday, February 12, 2011. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. The family will receive visitors from 11 AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Atherton United Methodist Church.

Eugene was born in Flint, MI on November 13, 1929, son of the late Walter and Della (Maresh) Barth. He married Gertrude Burnham on September 10, 1949. Eugene was a member of the Masonic Lodge #236 and a lifetime member of NRA. He was an avid hunter who also enjoyed treasure hunting with his metal detector. Eugene enjoyed camping in Traverse City on Lake Leelanau. He was a supervisor in the Buick Foundry and retired in 1987 after 44 years of loyal service.

Eugene is survived by his wife, Gertrude; children, Paul R. (Karen) Barth, Sue A. (Charles) Klenk, Gloria L. (Chris) Henderson, Carol E. (Pat) Doyle, Gary E. (Kittie) Barth; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Elaine (William) DeMars; and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by sisters, Joan Dawe and Kathryn Hays.
