
LLOYD, Jack – of Davison, age 80, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Heritage Manor. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service with military honors will be held 1 PM Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, Rev. Fr. Andrew Czajkowski celebrant. Burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 10 AM until the time of the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alcoholic Anonymous, National Autism Association, or to a charity of one’s choice.
Jack was born in Groesbeck, TX on January 24, 1931, son of the late Jesse and Winnie (Marshall) Lloyd. He married Martha Slawter on November 12, 1983 in Flint. Jack proudly served his country for 4 years in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for Fisher Body Plant 1 in Flint and retired in 1986. He spent his retirement in Lakes of the North in Elmira, MI. Jack was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #695 in Flint and the American Legion. He was also an avid sportsman.
Jack is survived by wife, Martha; sons, Robert (Annette) Lloyd of Clio, John (Kandi) Lloyd of Linden, Jim Lloyd of Flint; daughters, Katherine Montgomery of Mt. Morris, Mary (Rick) DeShano of Gaines, Theresa (Dennis) Martin of Flint; sister, Martha “Sis” Lloyd of Davison; step-children, Mary (Carl) Knieper of Davison, Teresa (Ed) Seames of Florida, Don (Sandy) Slawter of Gaylord, Gary Slawter of Gaylord; mother of his children, Irene Lamendola of Fenton; 25 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by sister, Betty Weston; brothers, Bob Lloyd, Reggie Lloyd, Bruce Lloyd; step-son, John “Bobby” Slawter.
