NORTON, Cleda Berniece – of Clio, age 83, passed away Friday, February 18, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be 1 PM Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Gary Pillow officiating. Burial at Thetford Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 11 AM to 9 PM, and on Tuesday from 11 AM until time of services at 1 PM.

Cleda was born February 3, 1928 in Flint to the late Arlie and Beatrice (Creamer) Edwards and resided in Clio most of her life. She married Edwin Norton on September 17, 1949. He preceded her in death on February 16, 2010. Cleda had been employed at Bell Telephone, was a volunteer for C-M Ambulance and worked at Thetford Township elections. Cleda was a member of the Clio VFW Post #1452 Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed bowling, crocheting, gardening, Skip-Bo and watching the Hallmark channel. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Surviving are: 4 children, Debra Young, Randy Norton, Kathy Childers, all of Clio; Ellen (Jim) Cokley of Davison; 6 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; her dog, Jasmine; sisters, Carol (Rudy) Saeger, Donna (Bob) Ames all of Millington; several nieces and nephews.
