SLOMINSKI, Mary (O’Leary) of St. Charles, Michigan, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away February 19, 2011 at Covenant HealthCare. Age 77, Mary was born February 24, 1933 in Saginaw to the late George and Rachel (Cook) O’Leary. Mary graduated in 1951 from St. Mary’s Cathedral and worked at Michigan Bell. Mary married Robert Slominski on May 21, 1955 in Saginaw, he survives her. She enjoyed spending time with her family, golfing, sewing, traveling and working at their pharmacy; Bob’s Pharmacy for 20 years. Mary was a volunteer at Saginaw General Hospital for many years and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and its Alter Society.
Along with her husband, Mary is survived by children, Steve of St. Charles, Mark and Brenda of Garner, N.C., and Scott and Sandra of St. Charles. Grandchildren Carla and Tommy Spears of Clayton, N.C., Heather and Christopher Lawton of Cary, N.C., Jacob Slominski and Fiancé, Amanda Speakman of Clayton, N.C.,  and Martin Slominski of St. Charles. Also great-grandson Gavin and great-granddaughter Magdalene Spears of Clayton, N.C. Brother-in-law Gerald and wife Marie of Warren, MI; sisters-in-law, Kay O’Leary and Ann O’Leary and many loving nieces, nephews and good friends. Along with her parents, Mary was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy; brothers, Dennis, Gerald and Robert and sisters, Jean Kalmes, Ruth Pavlicek and Patricia Haremski.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in St. Charles. Fr. Todd Arnberg will preside. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery of St. Charles. The family will receive visitors at C.M. Humpula Funeral Home, 209 Entrepreneur Dr., St. Charles from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday and from 10:00 a.m. until the service time Wednesday. Memorials may be made to “P.S.P” (Progressive Supranuclear Palsey), Mary’s illness.
