WERNETTE, Margaret ‘Marge’ M. – of Burton, age 86, passed away February 19, 2011 in Chaparral, New Mexico. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Friday, February 25, 2011 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Burial, with Military Honors under the auspices of the American Legion – Davison #267 will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Wednesday and 1-3 & 5-8 PM Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Navy – Marine Corps Relief Fund or Boy Scouts of America – Tall Pine Council.

Marge was born in Flint, MI on May 5, 1924, daughter of the late Harold and Marian (Palmer) Yankle. She married Duane Harold Wernette in Flint in 1947 and he preceded her in death in 2001. Marge enjoyed sewing, cross- stitch, painting ceramics, traveling and quilt making. She worked for General Motors before retiring in 1980.

Marge is survived by her children, Craig (Deborah) Wernette, Marcia (Mike) LeGendre and Wes (Jane) Wernette; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Richard (Eva) Yankle. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Renee; brother, Robert Yankle.
