
HUMPHREY, Raymond – Of Grand Blanc, age 88, died Monday, March 7, 2011 at Grand Blanc Rehab & Nursing Center. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2011 at Faith Lutheran Church, 12534 Holly Road, Grand Blanc, Pastor Jerry Harms officiating. Cremation has taken place. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Faith Lutheran Church. Visitation 5-8p.m. Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mr. Humphrey will be at the church 12 Noon Friday until the time of the service.
Raymond was born in Turtle Lake, Wisconsin on December 22, 1922. On May 4, 1944 he married Hazel Nieminen. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He served in the Army during World War II, overseas in the European Theater. Raymond worked for GM Truck and Bus for 34 years in many different roles with the last one of salaried personnel supervisor. He worked as a private consultant for many years after retirement. Surviving are wife, Hazel; son, Mark of Grand Blanc; 2 sisters, Lavee and husband Bob Gagnon of Clio, Dolores Burke of Grand Blanc; Special niece, Suzanne Brady of Grand Blanc and many nieces, nephews and godchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, James and Gerald.
