GIBSON, James W. – of Clio, age 79, passed from this life on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 1PM Monday, March 22, 2010 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Pastor Darrell Bailey officiating. Interment to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1-4 and 6-9PM with a 7PM memorial service conducted by VFW Post #1452 and on Monday from 11AM until the time of service. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.

James was born on February 15, 1931 in Flint, Michigan to the late J.W. and Nina (Whitman) Gibson. He has lived in Clio since 1964. James married Helen M. Fry on March 24, 1952 in Newark, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. James was employed with Moore Bros. Electric as an Electrician for 42 years, retiring in 1996. He served on the Thetford Twp. Planning Commission. James enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodwork.

James is survived by: wife, Helen; children, Diane (Pat) Garl of Clio, James Jr. (Mary) Gibson of Clio and Janet (Darrell) Bailey of Davison; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Andrew Gibson of Flint and Wayne Gibson of Saginaw; sisters, Helen Ball of Flushing, Betty (Al) Gilbert of Arizona, Donna Woolever of Florida; several nieces and nephews.
