
MURDOCK, Steven A. – of Montrose and Flushing, age 48, died Thursday, April 2, 2010 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 1PM Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose, Rev. Dr. Mary Lloyd officiating. Interment to follow in Montrose Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-9PM, Monday from 12-4 and 6-9PM and on Tuesday from 11AM until the time of service. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
Steve was born on June 6, 1961 in Flint, Michigan to Carl and Donna (Wilbur) Murdock. He graduated from Hill-McCloy High School in 1979. He attended the Community Hope Church of God in Flushing. Steve was a very gifted athlete who excelled in baseball. He was a skilled craftsman and enjoyed bike riding, woodworking and playing horseshoes. Steve was a very loving person who always put others first. He had a very big heart. Steve was always willing to lend a helping hand and his caring and compassionate nature will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are: son, Matthew Murdock of Montrose; daughter and best-friend, Krysta Shubert-Murdock of Flint; mother, Donna Murdock of Montrose; brothers, Daniel (Peggy), Raymond (Rose), Bruce (Rose), Mark (Mary), Bradley, Jeffery (Karen), Eric (Miranda), Brian (Linda); step-children, Jason and Erica; 2 nieces and nephews; 25 great-nieces and nephews; former wife, Ruby (James) Groves; friend, Wendy Doan; dogs, Duke and Sadie.
