GOSSETT, Percie Clayton – 72

GOSSETT, Percie Clayton – of Flint, age 72, passed away March 21, 2010 in Greer, SC. A Funeral Service will be held 11 am Friday, March 26, 2010 at Friendship Free Will Baptist Church, 7110 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Curtis Lilly officiating. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 am-8 pm Thursday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. On Friday, there will be visitation at the church for one hour prior to the service.
Percie was born in Graham, KY on July 14, 1937, son of the late Columbus and Anna Mae (Steele) Gossett. Percie married Phyllis Kader on September 20, 1958. Phyllis preceded him in death on January 1, 2003. He was a member of Friendship Free Will Baptist Church. Percie retired from General Motors as a Tool and Die Maker. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Percie is survived by his children, Renee (Joe) Hagy, Joe Gossett, Julie Gossett, John (Susie) Gossett, Jean (Scott) Cavin, Paul (Amy) Gossett and Wes (Lori) Gossett; grandchildren, Laura, Katie, Logan, Danielle, Andrew, Will, Justin, John II, Jeremiah, Jenna, Kyle, JC, Anna, Avery, Ashton, Zoie, Phyllis and Joseph; great-grandson, Israel; sisters, Jimmy Dee, Jane Thomas and Edith Ann; brother, Danny; special friends, Paul Steinhauser and Lane Verran. He was preceded in death by grandsons, Austin and Jesse and, brother, Rodney Lee.

ERBISCH, Arthur Frederick – 80

ERBISCH, Arthur Frederick, 80, of Frankenmuth, formerly of the Vassar area, died early Monday evening, March 22, 2010 at Tendercare of Frankenmuth. He was born December 3, 1929 in Sebewaing, son of the late Adolph and Emma (Nietzke) Erbisch, and served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1948 until 1952. On February 27, 1954 he married the former Carol Butterfield in Unionville. Together they celebrated fifty-six years of marriage. Mr. Erbisch was employed as a crane operator with General Motors, Buick Division, in Flint for over thirty-three years, retiring October 1, 1986. After his retirement he spent time in the Harrison area working as a cemetery sexton at different cemeteries. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Reese. His enjoyments included fishing, hunting, boating and snowmobiling. Art also enjoyed square dancing with his wife and was an avid walker.
Surviving besides his wife Carol are his four daughters, one son and their spouses, Debra and Walter Bezona of Allyn, Washington; Judy and John Jewell of Grayling; Connie and David Swanson of Frankenmuth; Marjorie and Shawn Keenoy of Manitou Beach; and David and Lori Erbisch of Vassar; and his eight grandchildren, Erika and Nicholas Erbisch, John and Jessi Jewell, Stephanie and Crystal Swanson and KaliAnna and Dakota Keenoy. Also surviving are his two brothers and one sister, Nelson Erbisch of Harbor Beach; Gilbert Erbisch and his companion, Joy of Georgia and Colorado; and Marie Rhines and her husband Jerry of Hubbard Lake; and several nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law. In addition to his parents, Mr. Erbisch was predeceased by a son, Gordon Frederick Erbisch, his grandson, Walter Arthur Bezona, his brother, Clarence Erbisch and his sister, Helen Hodder.

~Funeral Services~

Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 25, 2010 from the Trinity Lutheran Church in Reese. Rev. Robert Bennett and Vicar Adam Lehman will both officiate with cremation to follow. Private family inurnment will take next week in the Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flint.
~Visitation~
Mr. Erbisch’s family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw St. in Reese on Wednesday from 3-8 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of services. Military honors will be presented by the U.S. Navy.
