ROMAN, Edna A. of Durand age 89 Died Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Genesys Regional Medical Center, Health Park, Grand Blanc Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at the Streeter Funeral Home, 507 W. Maple, Byron Pastor A.J. Kunde officiating. Burial in the Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery, Owosso.

 Edna was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 27, 1920 the daughter of William and Emile (Gitz) Meissner. She married Saint Paul Vroman in Durand, MI on September 13, 1936. He preceded her in death on September 29, 1981. She lived in the Durand and Byron areas since 1927.

 Edna was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church of Durand and the Women’s Relief Corp. of Byron. Edna was a homemaker and a nurse aide

 Surviving are her Sons– William Vroman of Durand; Charles and wife Laura Vroman of Durand; Daughters– Nancy Forrester of Phoenix, AZ; Cathy and husband Kenneth Kollek of Owosso. 11 Grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren. Many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Brother– Emil (Jan) Meissner of Roscommon, MI. Nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Dorothy, a grandson, 3 great grandchildren and sister Emma Van Horn.

TAYLOR, James Robert of Richfield Township age 81 died Friday February 26, 2010 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Honoring James’ wishes cremation has taken place. No visitation or services will be held. He was born in Hadley Township, MI May 10, 1928 the son of the late Robert and Luella (Lozier) Taylor.James was loved and will be truely missed by wife Donna; children: Lynn, Sandra, Ted, Bethany, Jeff, Mickey, and Julie, 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and, brother Bob Taylor, sister Phyllis Katona and many other relatives and friends.

ATZNICK, Gerald “Jerry” H. of Durand, formerly of Byron age 90 Died Saturday, February 27, 2010 at his residence.

 As per Jerry’s request, cremation has taken place and final interment will be in the Reed Cemetery, Laingsburg

 A memorial gathering of Jerry’s family and friends will be announced and held this summer

 Jerry was born in Venice Twp., Shiawassee County on July 31, 1919 the son of Herman and Margaret (Moyses) Matznick. He married Lois E. Gilson in Flint, MI on October 25, 1939. She preceded him in death on November 11, 1999. He lived in the Durand and Byron areas.

 Jerry’s enjoyed hunting and fishing. erry was a pipe fitter for General Motors at the Truck Plant retiring in 1973 after 34 years of service.

 Surviving are- Special loving companion- June Robinson, Daughter- Kay Combs of Gaines, Sons- Gary and wife Wanda Matznick of Byron, Rodney and wife Lynda Matznick of Byron, 8 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, 3 brothers and 7 sisters, Several nieces, nephews and cousins.

LALONDE, JEREMY A. age 34 of Otter Lake died Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Lapeer Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday March 3, 2010 at Hudson Funeral Service, Otisville, Pastor Louis Cook officiating. Burial will be in Otter Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from Noon-4 PM and 6-9 PM. He was born March 5, 1975. He enjoyed playing euchre and spending time with his family. BOILLAT, Lori M. of Byron age 47 Died Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at Genesys Regional Medical Center- Health Park, Grand Blanc.

 Lori was born in Howell, Michigan on December 12, 1962 the daughter of Elmer and Doris E. (Richards) Boillat. She lived her entire life in the Byron area.

 Lori was a graduate of Owosso High School and earned a certificate as a Certified Nurse Assistant from Mott Community College. She was well known at the McDonald’s in Howell. Lori’s greatest pride and joy in her life were Greg, April and Jacob.

 Lori was a nurse assistant at the Howell Care Center from 2003 to 2009.

 Surviving are her Son- Greg and wife April Hodge of Durand; Grandson- Jacob Hodge; Mother- Mrs. Elmer (Doris) Boillat of Byron; Sisters- Margery and husband Jerald Richardson of Byron; Mary and husband James Salisbury of North Kingston, R.I.; Brothers- John and wife Mary Boillat of Byron; Thomas and wife Carolyn Boillat of Byron. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins Special companion her dog- Holly. She was preceded in death by her father and daughters Suzzane and April.

BIRCHMEIER, Frances M. – Of Flint, age 97, died Friday, February 26, 2010 at her residence. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11824 South Saginaw, Grand Blanc, Father Ken Coughlin officiating.

 Cremation will take place following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the North End Soup Kitchen or the Humane Society of Genesee County. Visitation 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Frances will be at the church from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the Mass.

 Frances was born in New Lothrop, Michigan on June 22, 1912, the daughter of the late Pius and Emma Birchmeier. She was a former member of St. Matthew Catholic Church.

 Surviving are two sisters, Pauline “Pat” Benway and Catherine Birchmeier; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her three sisters, Albena Brown, Irene Irland and Bernice Hooks; four brothers, Arthur, Alfred, Harold and Donald Birchmeier. BEXTON, Irene E. (Schlosser) – Of Flint, age 70, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at home, with family and friends at her side.

 Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2010 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Bradley Lake and Pastor Donnie Eagle officiating. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family. Visitation 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.

 Irene was born in Pellston, Michigan on June 7, 1939. She was one of seven children, born to Fred and Lettie Schlosser. She graduated from Utley High School. On August 23, 1958 she married Marcus V. Bexton in Flint. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post #3087.

 Surviving are husband, Marcus V. “Red”; children, Mary and Jimmie Bostic, Brenda and Jeffery Abeare, Marcus and Louann, John and Michelle, all of Flint; brothers, William and (Sylvia) and Eugene; sister, Freida Rieder; sisters-in-law, Mardee and Linda Schlosser; 18 grandchildchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Joe and Louie; sister, Ruth Golembiewski and great-granddaughter, Ally.

ALDRICH, Joan age 83 of Perry, passed away on Saturday February 27, 2010 at Olive Branch of Perry.

 A memorial service will be held at the Perry Congregational Christian Church on Tuesday March 2, 2010 at 11:00 AM. with Pastor Jim Salo officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

 Joan was born in Bad Axe, MI on February 24, 1927, the daughter of Louis & Dora (Brown) Rice. She married Charles Harvey Aldrich in Brighton, MI on June 25, 1950. She was a school teacher in Saginaw and Perry and was a member of the Perry Congregational Christian Church.

 Joan is survived by her husband Charles, children; Jim (Patricia) Aldrich of Perry, Patty (Will) Waterman of Lansing, and Tom Aldrich of E. Lansing. Grandson Matt Aldrich of Lansing.
