BLOOMFIELD, Henry E. age 69 of Atlanta, MI, formerly of Laingsburg passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 in Atlanta, MI.

Henry was born on July 17, 1940 in Lansing, MI the son of Stanley and Therima (Davis)Bloomfield. He was a 1958 graduate of Laingsburg High School and served in the US Army during . he was married to Joan Parling and she predeceased him in 2008. He was retired from Gerneral Motors where he was a Welder. He was a 20 year member of the Trade Shooters Association.

He is survived by four children; Russell Scott of Dewitt, Alexa Parling of Dewitt, Henry Bloomfield of Lansing and Leslie (James) Nanasy of Lewiston, grandchildren, Tracy (Gabe) Deverex, Garrett Scott, Amber Neller, Cole Bloomfield and Danielle Bloomfield, great-grandchildren, Macy, Brody, Max. Willow, Piper, Addison, Vance and Savannah, Broithers, Roger and Dale Bloomfield and Bill Jorae. He was predeceased by his sister Dandy Bloomfield.

A memorial service will be announce at a later date.

ANNIS, Edith Helen (Martin) – of Valdese, North Carolina, formerly of Davison, age 92, passed away February 26, 2010 in Valdese NC. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Davison United Methodist Church,207 E. 3rd St., Davison, Rev. Debbie Line officiating. Burial will follow in Linden Cemetery. Visitation will be held 3-8 PM Tuesday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation on Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Davison United Methodist Church.

Edith was born in Detroit, MI on March 3, 1917, daughter of the late Frank and Mae (Gilchrist) Martin. She married Ralph B. Annis on June 7, 1937 in Elkhart, IN and he preceded her in death on September 28, 1996. Edith was a member of Davison United Methodist Church and was active in the Women’s Circle, the choir and the Hands Group.

Edith is survived by her daughters, Beverly (Robert) Neighorn of Grand Blanc, Connie (Ed) Kurtz of Valdese, NC; grandchildren, Carrie (Steven) Safran of Novi, MI, Chris (Joy) Kurtz, Jason (Teresa) Kurtz, Sarah (Ryan) Morgan, all of Morganton, NC; great-grandchildren, Anna, Ava and Jaxon Kurtz of Morganton, NC, Cameron and Harrison Safran of Novi, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; son, Edward; brothers, Robert T. Martin, William G. Martin; parents and very dear friend, Jerry Herl.

YOUNG, Jim – Of Flint, age 62, died Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Karmanos Hospital in Detroit. Funeral service will be held 1pm Monday, March 1, 2010 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the American Leukemia Association. Visitation 3-8pm Saturday and 1-4pm and 6-8pm Sunday at the funeral home.                                

Jim was born in Flint on January 29, 1948, and was a resident of Flint all of his life. He was married for 31 years to Mary Sue. Jim was employed with GM Truck and Bus and was also a member of UAW Local #598. He was an avid classic car collector.

 Surviving are wife, Mary Sue; 3 children, Tonya Catizone of Flint, Jimmy of Fenton, Amee and husband Don Thomas of Birch Run; 6 grandchildren, Christopher, Christia, Adam, Casey, Hailee and Jace; 2 great-grandchildren. Trenton and Eli; Brothers, Jerry and wife Linda Young of Tennessee, Michael and wife Mary Young of Grand Blanc; Several nieces and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by parents, Louis and Nina and in-laws, Luther and Billiegene McClanahan.

Died Thursday, February 25, 2010 at his residence. Funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Monday, March 1, 2010 at the Streeter Funeral Home, 507 W. Maple, Byron Rev. Jack Johnston officiating
Cremation will follow the service. Final interment will be in the Byron Cemetery

Visitation at the funeral home Monday from 10 AM until the time of service

 Ron was born in Holly, MI on June 23, 1936 the son of Robert and Madge (Roberts) Wright. He married Mary Lou Stiff in Linden, MI on May 14, 1955. He lived in the Byron area since 1983.

Ron served in the U.S. Marine Crop during the Korean War. He attended the First United Methodist Church of Byron.

Ron was an electrician for Basil Vincent Repair from 1962- 1975.

Surviving are his Wife – Mary Sons- Ronald and wife Earline Wright of Linden Jeff and wife Kay Wright of Chicago, IL
Daughters- Kristine and husband Bryan Dawson of Byron Sheryl and husband Tom McComb of Durand 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren Nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Kelley and brothers Robert Jr. and Francis.

WRIGHT, Glen D. – Of St. Helen, formerly of Flint, age 79, died Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at West Branch Regional Hospital. Funeral service will be held 2pm Monday, March 1, 2010 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Doug Klein officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation 11am-2pm and 4-8pm Sunday and 12noon Monday until the time of service at the funeral home.

Glen was born in Iuka, Mississippi on March 21, 1930, and resided  in Flint from 1954 until 1988 upon moving to St. Helen. Glen retired from Ternstedt/Fisher Body, Coldwater Road after 35 years of services. Upon retiring, he enjoyed the good life of golfing, boating and fishing. He will be remembered by all for his infectious laugh, caring ways and constant smile. He was the “self-proclaimed mayor” of St. Helen.

 Surviving are children, Cheryl Kerspilo, Charlotte Seibel and Sandy (John) Palmer; 5 grandchildren, Jeffrey Kerspilo, Kristen Marcotte, Laura Seibel, Stacy Griffiths and Heather Palmer; 5 great-grandchildren; Sister, Doris Floyd and brother, Ruble Wright.

 He was preceded in death by wife, Jessie, son, Terry and mother and father.

STEVENS, Philomena – of Flint, age 86, passed away February 24, 2010 at her residence. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 am Monday, March 1, 2010 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, G-5199 Richfield Rd., Flint, Fr. George Puthenpeedika celebrant. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 11am-2pm and 4-8pm Saturday and 10am-2pm and 4-8pm Sunday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Monday at the church. A Rosary will be prayed 7 pm Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Philomena was born in Flint, MI on November 29, 1923, daughter of the late Nicholas and Macolata Russo. She married Edward Stevens in 1949 and was a resident of Flint her whole life. Philomena loved watching her birds and spending time with her friends and family.

Philomena is survived by her children, Mike Stevens, Diane Bowe, John Stevens, Nancy (Mark) Avitts, Patty (Steve) Fairman; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Rose Hynes; brother, Sam (Betty Jane) Russo; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Edward Stevens; brothers, Jack (Mary) Russo, Tony Russo, Spencer Russo and Guy Russo.

PIERSON, FREDRIC C. age 73 of Otisville died Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Goodrich Hospice Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday March 1, 2010 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church Otisville, Deacon Dan Zudel officiating. Burial will be in Smith Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday and Sunday from Noon-4 PM and 6-9 PM. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Timothy Lutheran Church. He was born September 21, 1936 in Sherman Township, Iosco County the son of Harry and Lovina Pierson. On November 5, 1955 he married Margaret A. Wolcott. Fred was a member of the St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Otisville. He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking and get together with his family He worked for General motors Buick division, plant 31 and retired in 1992. Surviving are children: Debra (Ralph) Warby, Connie (Sherwood) Warby, Cathy (Merton) Warby, Fred Pierson Jr., James (Cherry) Pierson. 13 grandchildren: Zach, Rachel, Cheri, Megan, Michael, Melissa, Hope, Justin, Jesse, Nicole, Kasey, Mallorie and Jacob. 12 great grandchildren: Annika, Kurtis, Chase, Preston, Chandler, Matthew, Julia, Jackie, Brittany, Samantha, Gage and Kloe. Sisters: Dorothy Jordan, Wilma Brigham, Joy Jurek, Joyce Stokoszynski, Phyllis Kolevar, Judy Hilliker, and Virginia Revord. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, wife Margaret in 2003 son Tim in 2007 and a brother Carl Pierson
