MUELLER, Heinz — Age 83, of Fruitport, MI, formerly of the Flint area, died March 8, 2011 at Oak Crest Assisted Living in Spring Lake. Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday, March 16 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Pastor J.D. Landis officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday; and 10 AM until time of service Wednesday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Mr. Mueller was born April 19, 1927 in Coburg, Germany, the son of Fredrick and Elizabeth (Schrofel) Mueller. He had resided most of his life in the Flint area. He was a graduate of Flint Northern High School and GMI with a Bachelors Degree in Engineering. Mr. Mueller was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Kathleen “Kay” Demeris on September 10, 1949 in Flint. Mr. Mueller retired from Fisher Body Grand Blanc in 1987 with 40 years of service. He was a member of the Swartz Creek United Methodist Church and the Elks Club. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, traveling, and was an avid sports fan. Surviving are: wife Kay; daughter Cindy and husband John Adams of New Era, MI; grandson Andrew; brothers, Hans of Montrose, Bill of Swartz Creek, Charlie and wife Maryetta of Swartz Creek; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Pat Mueller, Virginia Mueller, Bill and Elizabeth Demeris, Marilyn and Joe Shields and many nieces and nephews. ARENDT, Jamie 43 of Clio, died March 7, 2011. Memorial service 11 AM Monday, March 14, 2011 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 520 Butler St, Clio. Rev. Erik Cloeter will officiate.

Jamie was born May 28, 1967. Jamie had a heart for children and the homeless. Free-spirited person who loved life. She donated her body to the Gift of Life Program. Survived by: daughter, Meghann Mealbach; mother, Pat Arendt; father Jim Arendt; step-mother, Bonnie Arendt; siblings, Michael Arendt, Ryan (Greg) Sanchez, Jim (Yvette) Arendt, step-siblings Steven (Cheria) Gross, Tracey (Tom) Campbell; nieces, Erica, Ellie, Harper, Ansley Arendt, Brianna Campbell; nephews Zachary Campbell, Matthew and Nathan Gross; great-niece Mackenzie. ROBINSON, Shirley Lee – of Lapeer, age 62, passed away March 9, 2011 at Brian’s House Hospice of Davison. A Funeral Service will be held 2 pm Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Chaplain Sandy Adams officiating. Visitation will be 11 am-2 pm Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the American Cancer Society.
Shirley was born in Greenup, Kentucky on April 30, 1948, daughter of the late Russell and Dorothy (Clark) Griffith. Shirley Griffith married Lindsey Robinson on May 21, 1966. Her faith was with the Baptist church. Shirley loved spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Lindsey; children, Lindsey (Angela) Robinson Jr., William Russell (Dana) Robinson and Teresa (Philip) Selleck; seven grandchildren; eight siblings and many other family members.

GOULD, Kristopher J. – 25

Sgt. Kristopher J. Gould, 25, of Frankenlust Township died in the Ghazni province Sunday, February 27, 2011, from wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.
He began his military service with the Michigan Army National Guard in 2003 and joined the United States Army in 2006. Kristopher served three tours of duty in the Middle East and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart posthumously.
“The thoughts and prayers of the entire state are with Kristopher’s family, this brave young soldier put others’ lives ahead of his own and made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom,” said Snyder.
