BURRIS, Dennis Michael, “Mike”, age 64, of Fenton, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:45 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Rev Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday and 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Contributions may be made to Eastern Michigan Food Bank or the American Heart Association.

Mike was born June 22, 1946 in Flint the son of the late James Howard and Leah Louise (Segren) Burris. He was a 1964 graduate of Davison High School and attended Flint Junior College. Mike married Mary Louise Jupe on April 5, 1968 in Mt. Morris. He was currently employed by Dental Art Laboratories as a certified dental technician. Mike enjoyed fishing and all sports, especially Detroit Lions Football. He will be remembered for his infinite knowledge of trivia and as a connoisseur of restaurants. More than anything Mike loved his family and really enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Mary; son, Eric Burris and wife, Cathy of Chelsea; daughter, Jennifer Goings and husband, Robert of Gaines; 5 grandchildren, Nicholas, Jacob and Abigail Burris, Bryce and Allyson Goings; 3 brothers, Richard Burris and wife, Donna of Swartz Creek, Paul Burris and wife, Tammy of Columbia City, IN, Patrick Burris and wife, Dana of Gaines; sister, Dawn Warren and husband, Tim of Montrose; and several nieces and nephews. BARBER, Jeanette – age 76, of Flint, died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at her residence. Services will be held 1 PM Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 11 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Mrs. Barber was born March 23, 1934 in Flint, the daughter of Joseph Michael and Carrie (Miller) Schiestel and was a graduate of Sacred Heart. She married Durwood R. Barber on June 27, 1970 in Grand Blanc. Mrs. Barber retired from General Motors in 1972 after 18 years of service and resided in Florida since 1973. She enjoyed travelling and playing bingo. Surviving are: husband, Durwood “Doc” Barber of Flint; four children, Randolph (Pat) Sheick of Lake Wales, FL, Susanna (Robert) Kost of Grand Blanc, Richard Barber of Flushing and Jack Barber of Clinton Twp.; six grandchildren; sister, Joyce (Robert) McClelland of Swartz Creek; one niece; three nephews and many cousins also survive. AMBLE, Robert Charles, Jr. “Bob” – Age 50, of Davison, died Tuesday, February 22, 2011 in Minnesota. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday from 6-9 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Bob was born July 28, 1960 in Grayling, the son of Robert Charles, Sr. and Barbara Jean (Walker) Amble. He was a 1979 graduate of Davison High School and attended MIT. He married Kimberly Anne Rickard December 27, 1980 in Davison. Bob enjoyed kayaking, running, spending time with friends at the beach house in Tawas, especially spending time with friends and family. Surviving are: wife, Kimberly Anne; 4 children, Sandra and husband Bryan Benjamin of California, Robert Amble III and fiancee Kathryn Gifford of Massachusetts, Jennifer and husband Mark II Ragnone of Davison and Jeffrey Amble of Davison; parents, Dr. Robert Charles and wife Barbara Jean Amble of Davison; brother, Jon Amble of Six Lakes; sister, Karen Leffler of Davison; nieces, Jessica and husband John Tramontana, Tara Amble and Marisa Amble; nephews, Nicholas Leffler and William Amble; best friends, Keith Galbraith and Ron Portser.
