WIGHTMAN, Rev. Raymond D. Bay City, Michigan passed away unexpectedly early Wednesday morning February 23, 2011 at Bay Regional Medical Center. Age 49 years. He was born July 12, 1961 in Saginaw, Michigan. He was the Pastor of Fremont Ave United Methodist Church from June 2010-present and previously served as pastor in Hudson, Trenton, Redford, Reese, and Manistique. He was very active in scouting and became an Eagle Scout in 1977, he graduated from Arthur Hill High School class of 1979, earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Saginaw Valley State College class of 1983 and his Master’s degree from Illiff School of Theology in 1991.He is survived by one son; Kelantae Wightman, his father; David Wightman; brother, Kenneth Wightman; sisters; Janice Peters and Kathryn (Mark) Dewitt; nephews; Matthew & Jason Peters, Alexander & Zachary Dewitt, and Step-mother; Beverly Wightman. Ray was preceded in death by his mother; Lorraine in 1985.
Funeral and Committal Services will take place Friday, February 25, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc.. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Jeffrey R. Maxwell with private interment in Kochville Methodist Church Cemetery. Friends may at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Friday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorial cards for Wishes of the Family will be available at the funeral home.

URECHE, Shiela – Of Flint, age 63, died Monday, February 21, 2011 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 10a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Mr. Gary Turner officiating. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cancer Research Institute. Visitation 10a.m.-2p.m. and 4-8p.m. Friday and 9:30a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Shiela was born in Flint on December 8, 1947, the daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy (Evans) Scott. She married Alan Ureche in East Lansing. Surviving are husband, Alan Brothers, Dempsey (Jennifer) Scott of Petoskey, MI and Dudley (Shirley) Scott of Greer, South Carolina; Brothers-in-law, Thomas, Marty, and Stephen Ureche of Flint; Many nieces and nephews; Close friend, Linda Sloan and many other close friends.

NOWAK, Vincent M. – Of Flint, age 73, died Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Outreach Baptist Church, 4271 Crosby Road, Flint, Pastor Jim Reid officiating. Vincent was born in Saginaw, Michigan on September 11, 1937, son of the late Martin and Mary (Flory) Nowak. On September 17, 1994, he married the former Betty Killian in Flint. Vincent was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Surviving are wife, Betty; children, Martin of Yampa, CO, Tom (Carol) of Hartland, MI and Colette Merdzinski of Fremont, MI; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Walt (Delores) Nowak; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Albert.

MOORE, Jerry Michael – Of Flint, age 76, died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 1p.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Father Robert F. Copeland officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Visitation 1-8p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A Rosary will be prayed 7p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Jerry was born in Flint on February 17, 1935, and was a resident of Flint all of his life. Jerry served in the U.S. Army. He was employed with Fisher Body Plant #1 for 30 years, retiring in 1988. On April 30, 1979, he married Susan Sharp. Jerry owned and operated Dirty Shame Saloon in Burton for 20 years. Surviving are wife, Susan; Children, Kevin (Daisy) Hartman, Renee Hartman, Gary Hartman and fiancée Laura Marek, Jennie Hartman and fiancé Dan McLaren, James Moore and fiancée Devin Hyden, and Jerry Moore IV; Several grandchildren; Sister, Helen Brymer; Many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, James and Helen Moore and sisters, Marjorie J. Sorenson, Elizabeth C. Dutkowski, Lucille M. Moore and Patricia A. Poma.

MERCHANT, Robby D. – of Birch Run, died Monday, February 21, 2011. He was 55 years of age. Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the Birch Run United Methodist Church, 12265 Church St. Pastor Cliff Schroeder officiating. Burial at Birch Run Cemetery. Friends may call at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run on Thursday from 5-8 PM and on Friday from 12-4 PM & 6-8 PM. He will lie instate at the church on Saturday from 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM. Contributions may be made to the Birch Run United Methodist Church.
Robby was born December 24, 1955 in Saginaw to Thomas and Beverly (Haselhuhn) Merchant. He resided in Birch Run for most of his life. He married Lori Ruhstorfer on June 26, 1982 in Birch Run. Robby worked at Buick, then retired from Bay City Powertrain in 2006 with 30 years seniority. He was a member and trustee of Birch Run United Methodist Church and the UAW. He enjoyed camping, fishing, family and friends and was always there to help people.
Surviving are: wife, Lori; 2 sons, Christopher (Samantha) Merchant , Craig Merchant both of Clio; grandson, Blake; mother, Beverly Merchant of Birch Run; 3 brothers and a sister, Mark (Diana) Merchant of Burt, Pamela (Mike) Ewing of Birch Run, Thomas Merchant of Birch Run, Sidney (Jill) Merchant of Ocqueoc; other relatives. LYNCH, Casey W. of Clio, age 52, died Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at his residence. Cremation has taken place.
Casey was born December 15, 1958 in Flint to the late Mark and Sarah (Neault) Lynch. He was a resident of Clio most of his life.

FALL, Mr. Harry Lee of Vassar passed away suddenly Tuesday February 22, 2011 while in Grand Rapids on business, Harry was 74. Harry Lee Fall the son of the late Ward & Crystal (Edson) Fall was born in Flint Michigan on August 19, 1936. On August the 28th 1954 Harry married his wife of 56 years Miss Loretta LaBean. Harry owned and operated his own business for many years, first known as H. L. Fall and Sons Landscaping & Excavating, and in later more recent years H.L Fall Excavating Co. Harry was also a member of the Vassar FOE # 2380.
Harry leaves his wife Loretta, children, Russ & Peg Fall, Tim & Beth Ann Fall, Amand & Warren Swackhamer, and Linda & Keith Stahl, 13, grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, a brother and sister in-law David & Vicki Fall, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday at the Hanlin Funeral Home from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Saturday February 26, 2011 at the Hanlin Funeral Home. Memorial gifts of remembrance can be directed to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington has been assisting the Fall family with arrangements.
