Tuesday, February 1st, 2011SMITH, Thomas Noah of Flushing, age 17, died Saturday, January 29, 2011. Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 4, 2011 at St. Robert Catholic Church. Fr. Roy Horning will officiate. Burial will follow at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. Thursday at Rossell Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Thomas Smith memorial fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Thomas was born in Flint, Michigan on May 31, 1993, the son of Jonathan and Mary Ellen (Saucier) Smith. Thomas was a senior at Flushing High School. He loved all sports and was a first-string lineman on the varsity football team. Thomas was a state power lifting champion. He loved music and liked playing the drums. Thomas enjoyed hunting. He was an active member of St. Robert Church and was a 4th generation parishioner. He lived the life of a true Christian. Thomas enjoyed spending time with his friends and going to school. He was known for telling jokes and making people laugh. He always had a smile on his face.
Thomas is survived by his parents, Jonathan and Mary Ellen Smith; brother, Jacob Smith; grandparents, George and Linda Saucier; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward and Alice Smith.
